Hanfu Skirts

Hanfu Skirts
Hanfu skirts include the horse-face skirt (mamian qun), the ruqun skirt and pleated styles from the Tang, Song and Ming periods. They are the most versatile part of a hanfu wardrobe because they pair with both traditional tops and modern clothing.
Types of hanfu skirt

Horse-face skirt (马面裙) — wrap construction with flat side panels and knife pleats. The most popular style today. See our complete horse-face skirt guide.
Ruqun skirt — a long skirt tied at the waist or under the bust, worn with a short top.
Pleated skirts — fuller, more decorative, often worn for photographs.

Popular skirts
Long jacquard mamian skirt, everyday embroidered skirt, silk waist-length skirt and floral embroidered skirt.
How to choose
Fit is governed by the waistband, not the hip. Measure your waist in centimetres — Chinese sizing runs one to two sizes smaller than US/EU sizing. Our hanfu size guide covers the rest.
